A video-dance installation, Chance, appeared at four locations last fall in and around DC. In early December, we screened it on the arcade at Glen Echo Park, which served as one of the sites in the video and in late January it was shown informally in Philadelphia as part of the Oxford Occasional Salon Series.
The presentation of the video-dance itself caught audiences by chance, appearing on the side of a building on one evening and inside an empty storefont at another. In creating the video, which moves through colorful and vivid locations, we took as our starting point the investigation of coincidence and synchronicity in day-to-day life.
A preview of the Chance screenings appeared in the Weekend Section of the Post and Kriston Capps reiewed the piece in the Washington Post's Express, in which he described the work as capturing moments of "incidental grace and connectivity." Later, the screening at 1515 14th St Arts was also featured on ArtNet.
